these days
it is good
spirit conspires
to bring me

a gathering of women

here’s the good news:
I used to disassociate
feel nothing
eat to fill the emptiness
die a thousand deaths
from loneliness

I’m not alone
tears flow freely
breathing
standing up
even laughing

painting a yellow sunflower
for the woman who listened
washed my hair
sent me home
with kindness
on my heart

soft underbelly exposed NOW
breathe sigh hum sway pray
